Writing and singing

Sunny Neji
Sunny’s career has
spanned over two decades
beginning in 1991 with
the release of his debut
album ‘Captain’ on EMI.
He then joined ‘Colours
Band’ who he performed
with as the lead singer
for five years. ’97 was
the release of ‘Mr.
Fantastik’, the album
sold over 5 million in
Nigeria alone and won
many key awards for the
artist.
The singer and
songwriter, who has been
described by many as
simply ‘extraordinary’
hit the music industry
with his third album
titled ‘Roforofo’ it
dropped in October 2000
on the same label, the
album sold over 200,000
copies on the first week
of release alone and
occupied the number 1
spot on major charts! It
went on to sell
5.5million copies.
Sunny’s golden voice won
the award for Best
Artiste from West Africa
in 2005 an incredible
achievement! He breaks
all language and
communication barriers,
with his uncommon
eclectic musicality
inspired by his
influences; Marvin Gaye,
Barry White, Kenny
Rogers, Donny Hathaway,
Stevie Wonder and many
others who are icons of
evergreen music.
’Off Da Hook’ a timeless
masterpiece was released
in 2006 several years in
the making. A listen to
the album will tell you
that it is the work of a
perfectionist an eternal
signature for Sunny Neji.

of Hip-Hop and R&B. They

Love You’ is a love song
that draws on the duo’s
real life experiences
and is taken from the
group’s new album,
‘Press On Part Two’.
With its mid tempo beats
and a catchy chorus,
this track is set to
become one of this
winters love anthems.
The duo have been
touring in the United
Kingdom and have
completed the video
shoot for the single ‘I
Love You’ The single has
been predicted to be the
song that will put
Africa at the top of the

Blackface
Blackface born Augustine
Ahemdu in Obalende, in
the city of Lagos,
Nigeria in the 70s. A
principal founding
member of the defunct
multi-platinum selling
act Plantashun Boiz, a
dynamic RnB/Hip Hop
group that changed the
face of the Nigerian
music scene in the late
90s.
Due to his urging quest
to explore his deep
artistic cravings, he
released his first
exclusive solo Album
titled "Ghetto Child" in
2004, a compilation of
hard hitting political
rebuttal Dance-Hall
music style, laced with
deep African percussions
& dictions, proving his
dexterity in terms of
creativity and his
direct influences in
numerous sounds. His
inspiration comes from
great civil rights
activist such as Martin
Luther King Jr, Malcolm
X, Fela Anikulapo Kuti,
Bones Hammond, Sizzla
Kolongi, Nas & 2pac.
His latest album titled
Evergreen is the first
chapter of a three-part
instalment project. The
lead single off it
titled "Ahead of da
Game", a Dancehall/Hip
Hop laced with pidgin
english and local slang
expressions, presently
is getting mad rotation
on major television
stations in Africa, MTV
Base, Channel O etc. |
